There a number of threads here regarding the shifter not fulling shifting into Park (I should say "not knowing that it's been fully shifted into park"). Apparently new shifters are on back-order everywhere. Your post is the first I've seen regarding the manual shifting button, but since most people don't use it, I guess that's to be expected.

Update: Dropped the 2018 AWD LT2 Leather Traverse with around 35,000 miles off on July 15th for the scheduled rear differential replacement. Received a call from the shop stating the rear differential was badly damaged in transit and it could not be installed in the vehicle. They are keeping our vehicle as the existing rear end was already removed.
