Coastal Highway Memento caches. Advice. So I found a memento cache note at commuter's lament that says there's a cache at the rabbit grove cabin on the west side of the map. According to the wiki, it's hidden inside a reishi tree stump near the cabin, yet the only stump I could find (right in front of the door) isn't available to interact with.The second forge in The Long Dark is found in Desolation Point. This zone can be only be accessed from Coastal Highway and the Crumbling Highway, unless of course you spawn in Desolation Point. It can be found out on the ice (which is generally safe) on a ship called The Riken.

Just have to keep checking every day. If that's literally all you're doing is waiting for the moose, you could spend your days moving back and forth between there and the Desolation Point moose spawn. It's a short enough trip that you could easily make it there and back in a day, or just camp out there and return the next day, rinse, repeat.
