The PCV valve I run on my 350 is a #2072. I have a breather with hose to the air cleaner on the right and PCV on the left cover hosed to my edy 1405 carb. From what I know right or wrong, the idea is to have the PCV value closed at idle due to higher vacum pres which shuts off the internal valve.PCV systems reduce crankcase vapors caused by blowby, and also reduce moisture in the crankcase. Probably the single best thing you can do for your engine, your oil, and the environment. If I remember the numbers correctly, PCV systems reduced total vehicle hydrocarbon emissions by 40% compared to a draft tube system.
