Karil’s will give you the best DPS but it gets pricey since the bolt racks aren’t saved by Ava’s devices. MSB with rune arrows are better than RCB but slightly worse than Karil’s, but rune arrows work with Ava’s. Wait for blowpipe tbh. If you just want to do tasks then msb (i) and rune arrows if possible.

Greater mage and range defense. Karils is more useful in many circumstances. I'd say go with Karils. You rarely range a monster who uses melee up close where he can hurt you, if defense matters.

Even with amethyst arrows, pretty sure Karil's is better than MSB (I), only by about 5%, but still better. This isn't factoring in the spec, but the extra hit would have to add 5% total DPS just to break even.
